Universal Studios Hollywood speeds up Fast & Furious coaster access
Guests hoping to skip the long lines for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Hollywood now have another option, but it comes at an additional cost.
Beginning Nov. 2, 2026, Universal is offering a timed Express Access add-on starting at $19.95 per person for one ride on its newest roller coaster.

Earlier this summer, after a long and winding road, Universal Studios Hollywood finally opened its new flagship roller coaster: Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. This new coaster experience has given guests of the Southern California theme park a fast-paced way to experience the hills and curves of the Hollywood backlot, but with average wait times reaching the 90 to 100 minute mark, some guests are looking for ways to join Dominic Toretto and the rest of the family even faster.
That’s where Express Access comes in.
New Express Access for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift
Beginning on November 2nd, guests visiting Universal Studios Hollywood will have the opportunity to “beat the traffic”, as the park will unveil a Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Timed Express Access Add-On .
Priced starting at $19.95 per guest, this new Timed Express Access Add-On will allow visitors to experience the high-speed attraction one time utilizing the park’s Express queue, racing past the general admission line, before merging closer to the station.

This add-on is different from the traditional Express pass that Universal Studios Hollywood offers, with that pass being valid for one (or multiple, based on the type of pass you’ve purchased) ride on most attractions at the park, whereas this is only good for one ride on Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.
Excluded from Express and Express Unlimited
As of this writing, all standard Express and Express Unlimited passes exclude the coaster, with the exception of qualifying tickets purchased prior to August 31, 2026, as well as certain premium tours.

This new Express add-on is similar to what was offered during this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event, with the main exception being that this version is locked into a preselected ride time that the guest picks when purchasing it, whereas the HHN version was valid for one ride during the coaster’s operating hours on the date you purchased (typically 7-10 pm).

Similar add-ons
This isn’t the first time that Universal Studios Hollywood has offered an add-on to allow guests to experience a new attraction. When Super Nintendo World, and the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge ride opened in 2023, visitors could purchase an early entry ticket to the new land, which offered a way to beat the crowds.
As Universal Studios Hollywood continues to reinvent and reimagine its offerings to guests, options like this Express Add-On offers allow guests to take a more active role in planning their day, and guarantee a ride on what some are calling the best Roller Coaster in Southern California without spending over an hour waiting in line.
