New Titanic VR attraction at The Florida Mall | Review

A Titanic VR experience is now open at the new Fever Hub attraction at The Florida Mall, along with high-energy games.

Attractions Magazine was invited to check out the newly opened Fever Hub at The Florida Mall in Orlando. The venue currently offers multiple immersive experiences under one roof, and during our visit we sampled two very different attractions: the live-action “Glow or Go” games and the virtual reality experience “Titanic: A Voyage Through Time.”

What is Fever Hub?

Fever is an event discovery and production platform best known for marketing experiences that frequently appear on social media, including candlelit concerts and pop-up immersive events around the world. Fever Hub represents a more permanent physical space where guests can experience Fever-produced attractions year round.

Located in the former M&M’s store at The Florida Mall, the space is sizable and designed to house multiple experiences at once, with the flexibility to host rotating or touring attractions in the future. Conceptually, the idea of a centralized immersive venue is appealing, especially in a busy tourist corridor like Orlando.

Glow or Go games: Energetic but long

Fever Hub’s Glow or Go games consist of five timed mini-games where teams compete to earn points and extra lives, culminating in a final challenge.

The games include:

  • Pink Panic: a real-life whack-a-mole-style game requiring players to hit illuminated buttons as quickly as possible
  • Red Reflex: a laser maze where players navigate across the room without triggering sensors
  • Yellow Yell: a trivia-based challenge that involves throwing balls at targets corresponding to correct answers
  • Orange Outrun: a “floor is lava”-inspired game that requires players to jump between safe zones while collecting virtual keys
  • Solara: the final “Simon Says”-style challenge testing memory and reaction time

Individually, each game is fun and does a great job encouraging movement. Jumping, throwing, ducking, and sprinting in a controlled and safe environment makes this an appealing option for groups looking to be active together. Each game lasts approximately 12 minutes, though this often feels slightly too long. As difficulty ramps up, many of the games reach a point where success feels unattainable, leading to fatigue rather than excitement.

In several rooms, especially Red Reflex and Orange Outrun, we found ourselves stuck on tasks that became frustrating instead of fun. Allowing difficulty to scale back after repeated failed attempts would likely keep players more engaged. Even Yellow Yell, our favorite of the group, overstayed its welcome and left me with a sore throwing arm for days afterward.

The finale, Solara, involves donning protective gear and, if successful, being rewarded with colored water effects, lighting, and a brief dance party. A video of the moment is emailed afterward. This finale would be especially appealing to families with energetic kids, though some refinement to pacing and difficulty could make the experience more replayable.

Titanic: A Voyage Through Time in VR

Titanic: A Voyage Through Time places guests in untethered virtual reality headsets and allows them to explore multiple vignettes related to the ship’s history. The experience includes a descent to the wreck site as well as a journey back to the night of the sinking, with appearances by historical figures such as ship architect Thomas Andrews and Captain Edward Smith.

Technically, the experience is impressive. The untethered VR system allows for free roaming within a large space, and environments such as first-class cabins, the wheelhouse, and boiler rooms are well realized. For guests new to VR, this alone may be worth the visit to Fever Hub.

For those familiar with home VR systems, however, the experience feels similar to content already available. We encountered occasional technical hiccups, including brief de-synchronization moments and minor collisions with other participants. One sequence requiring players to walk down virtual stairs while physically on flat ground was particularly disorienting and did not translate well.

Interactive elements, such as picking up virtual objects, were present but largely inconsequential, serving more as distractions while waiting for the next scene. That said, the educational component is robust. Even without being a Titanic enthusiast, the sheer volume of information was impressive. Fellow guests who identified as Titanic fans seemed especially engaged, suggesting this experience will resonate most with history lovers, school groups, and educational outings.

Final thoughts on Fever Hub at The Florida Mall

Fever Hub is now open at The Florida Mall in Orlando, with each experience lasting roughly an hour and tickets sold separately. The concept of a permanent home for rotating immersive attractions is promising, and both offerings we tried have clear strengths. At the same time, neither experience feels fully polished or essential, particularly for guests already familiar with interactive gaming or virtual reality.

For families, school groups, or mall visitors looking to try something different, Fever Hub offers a solid diversion. With some refinement and a rotating lineup of experiences, it could grow into something more compelling. As it stands, it is an interesting start rather than a must visit destination.
