First phases of Hub expansion now open at Magic Kingdom – Photos
The Hub expansion seems to be moving at a rapid pace recently. Just this past week the two southern sections of the Hub opened for guests, also adding new FastPass+ viewing areas.
Announced just over a year ago, the remodeled Hub at the Magic Kingdom adds several new elements, including sculpted gardens, statues, fountains, additional pathways, expanded restaurant seating and a new viewing area for fireworks and other performances. Here’s a look at a completed video rendering Disney released last year:

As you can see, the new areas of the Hub add plenty of space to walk around in, and even sit and relax after a long day. The artificial turf seems to draw people to sit and lay on it.

Expanded seating has also been added to the ice cream parlor side.

Here is a panoramic look at the Crystal Palace side of the expansion. Both sides are already very popular with guests looking to get some rest.

Lots of gardens and a few fountains have also been added.

As you can see in this photo and the ones below, the small character statues that used to be in the central Hub area have found new homes inside the expanded sections. No word if this will be permanent or if they will moved back once the central Hub is finished.

The central Hub area is still being renovated at this time.
The Walt and Mickey Partners Statue has been behind walls for weeks while renovations continue. There’s no word on when this area will be complete.

According to the video Disney released at the top of this post, a few more additions look to still be coming to the northern area of the Hub, including new Castle turrets. The entire Hub remodeling project is set to be completed sometime this year.

Just like Disneyland Paris!
