Orlando World Center Marriott is now offering the fast-growing sport of Foot Golf at the resort’s Hawk’s Landing Golf Course this summer.

Traditionally, the only time feet come into play during golf involves nudging a near-miss into the hole while cheating at putt-putt. But believe it or not, Foot Golf — which merges elements from both soccer and golf — was recently named an official U.S. sport.

“We’re excited to further enhance the offerings at Orlando World Center Marriott, and Foot Golf is a great way for locals and guests to experience Hawk’s Landing Golf Course in a fun and approachable way,” said Michael Hodgins, director of golf at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club. “This activity is family- friendly, perfect for group team building events and is entertaining for all level players.”

The emerging sport of Foot Golf is played with a soccer ball on the golf course, but scored by traditional golf rules of stroke. During the round of Foot Golf, team members attempt to kick the soccer ball from tee-to-green into a 21-inch hole, while making sure to avoid water hazards and sand bunkers.

Groups have the option to play a round of 6 or 18 holes at Hawk’s Landing every Tuesday and Saturday after 4:30pm at a cost of $25 for adults and $12.50 for each accompanying junior 17 and under, and includes the use of a soccer ball for each player and golf cart for the game.
