French bakery at Epcot expands – Now serving soups, sandwiches, desserts and more

The Boulangerie Patisserie (bakery) in the France Pavilion at Epcot has moved into a larger space and has been renamed the Les Halles Boulangerie and Patisserie, serving soups, salads, sandwiches, coffees, breads, desserts and more. Let’s take a look.

The former site of the bakery is now closed. It is being converted into an ice cream shop. This will be welcomed once the Fountain View ice cream shop closes to be converted into a Starbucks later this year.

The bakery and dining room are located in the back of the store at the exit to the Impressions de France theater. As you can see, there are a number of sitting and standing tables.

Beyond the dining room is the bakery itself. You enter down the center then go left or right at the counter. Each side offers the same items.

You can cast members preparing the food at the kitchen area in the back.

This is one of the many digital menu boards. This gives you an idea of the prices.

Here’s a look into one of the display cases. It may remind you of the scene in Impressions de France where the kids are looking in a window full of sweets.

Notice the brown Mousse au Choco on the left. We tried it and it tastes a lot like the Grey Stuff at the new Be Our Guest restaurant at Magic Kingdom.

We also ordered the Croque Monsieur, which is sort of like a gourmet ham and cheese sandwich. It was delicious. Whereas the Croque Monsieur served at Be Our Guest for lunch is pretty much just a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

If you’re just interested in getting some coffee or other beverage, there’s a separate cafe walk-up window so you can avoid the lines inside the bakery.

Here’s a panoramic look at the dining room. There are also some seats outside where they’ve always been. In the back of the dining room are two restrooms. They are single use with each for both males or females.

Although the World Showcase area at Epcot usually doesn’t open until 11 a.m., the Les Halles Boulangerie and Patisserie opens at 9 a.m., so it’s a great spot for breakfast.
