‘Friends’ pop-up experience coming to New York City
An immersive experience inspired by the iconic TV show “Friends” is coming soon to New York City, and will give fans the chance to see set re-creations, props and costumes from the show.
As reported by Blooloop, this experience is created by Superfly, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and Warner Bros. Television Group. Superfly was also the same team behind The Seinfeld Experience, which is located elsewhere in Manhattan.
Tickets to the Friends New York City Pop-Up go on sale this Friday, Aug. 2. The experience will start outside a replica of the fountain from the show’s title sequence. To close out guests’ time in the pop-up, there is a fun photo-op on the orange couch from the show’s Central Perk coffee shop.
Other selfie-worthy moments in the exhibit include:
- Take a peek through Rachel and Monica’s purple door
- Relax on Chandler and Joey’s recliner after playing some foosball
- Help Ross with the infamous sofa pivot
- Learn Monica’s cleaning tips with Method Home Products
- Surround yourself with Phoebe’s favorite things
- Put a turkey on your head
There will also be a retail space filled with exclusive merchandise.
“It’s been nearly 25 years since ‘Friends’ premiered. But the fascination and universal appeal of the hit TV series lives on with fans of all ages,” said Peter van Roden, senior vice president of Global Themed Entertainment at Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “We are excited to bring the Friends experience to life for our fans in a way that pays homage to the remarkable cast of characters, iconic sets and instantly quotable moments.”
The pop-up will be open for one month only, located in the heart of Manhattan’s SoHo district at 76 Mercer Street. Fans can also access the pop-up’s retail store from 503 Broadway, and it will be open 7 days a week from Sept. 8 – Oct. 6. There will be a preview of the store for AT&T customers on Sept. 7.
