New nightmares and classic scares will emerge from the fog when Knott’s Scary Farm returns for its 47th year.
From Sept. 19 – Nov. 2, Knott’s Berry Farm will be transformed with 14 haunted attractions, including 4 scare zones and 9 mazes, along with a seasonal overlay to the Timber Mountain Log Ride.
Check out this year’s maze and scare zone lineup, along with official descriptions of each, below:
Wax Works – New for 2019
Mysterious lights and strange noises have been heard from the eerie abandoned wax museum. The former plastic surgeon, Dr. Augustus Scratch, has been seen working at night and is ready to show off his beautiful and terrifying life-like creations of hot molten wax and bloody flesh.
Rumor has it that screams can be heard echoing through the halls of Wax Works as victims are submerged into a hot cauldron of bubbling wax. Take a closer look at his gruesome works of art and escape his deadly grip… before you become the newest masterpiece in his collection.
Origins: The Curse of Calico – New for 2019
Discover the secret of the evil fog that hangs over Knott’s Scary Farm’s Ghost Town streets in the new maze, Origins: The Curse of Calico.
Unearth the sinister curse that plagues the town after Sarah Marshall is put on trial for witchcraft. All will be revealed when the Green Witch rises up and transforms all who have accused her into a wicked horde of creatures with an eternal thirst for the living.
Special Ops: Infected
Enlist to fight for your life during the zombie apocalypse in this interactive experience. Armed with specially designed laser guns, guests will embark on a mission of navigating through the city in a quest to find the infection cure.
This will be the last year for Special Ops: Infected, and this unique maze is going out with a bang! The maze will feature new surprises, including two new show scenes and characters. The new show scenes will include a split path into a convenience store scene and a meat-packing warehouse.
A fulfilling life will ensure a soul’s safe passage into the afterlife, but what happens to the souls of those who die in battle? The Shadow Lands maze will invite guests to fight off demon samurais whose souls have been cursed to rot within the depths of purgatory. Embark on a journey through a sacred shrine, an ancient Japanese temple and into the misty Shadow Lands.
This will also be the final year for Shadow Lands.
Paranormal, Inc. – The Haunting of Hayden Hill
Paranormal, Inc. will open its doors to those who seek an eerie and supernatural adventure. Guests will investigate a haunted hospital where patients were tortured for decades by deranged doctors and their nurses.
The spirits of the murdered victims have been detected throughout the halls, and an evil medical staff is prowling for new patients to torture. This year, guests will encounter a redesigned finale scene that will have everyone running out the door in fear.
Guests will have to survive the wrath of the 7-foot-tall murderous monster that lurks in the woods surrounding The Hollow and Pumpkin Eater maze. This creature is on the hunt within the haunted town he once terrorized. All who enter the maze must traverse through the silent town of victims, face a cave of crawling insects and solve the labyrinth of thorns that blocks the way out…or become just another number in Pumpkin Eater’s body count.
Travel through an abandoned carnival ride where cruel carnies still linger in the shadows of the Castle of Chaos. These shunned performers have created their own dark world filled with terrors they will unleash on the fools who enter.
Dark Ride will take those foolish…I mean, brave visitors on a dangerous path into the depths of this neglected attraction as horrifying scenes cast a dark gloom over this once pleasant ride. This is your worst nightmare, and there’s no way out.
New for this year, two new scenes will be added to Dark Ride: a control room and a gift shop exit scene, where guests will come face-to-face with Smiley Sam and Baby Fool.
A milky, heavy fog has settled over an abandoned port village where ancient creatures lurk in the pitch-black caves below the seaside shores. The Nightwatch Mining Crew has disappeared without a trace, and the local rumors point to the tunnels the town is built upon.
Myths of the horrors that lurk within the caves have been whispered about for years, but never proven true. Did the mining crew meet their end at the hand of the creatures within the caves? Travel into the darkness and follow the crew’s path into The Depths and investigate the superstitions revolving around the cave. But beware – All who have entered have never resurfaced!
New for this year, a freight elevator show scene will be added!
Travel beyond Earth and into the depths of space, where darkness is absolute. Guests will find themselves in a lone space station as they face terrors beyond their imagination. An extraterrestrial has invaded the station and is on the prowl for new hosts to claim. The creature’s power grows every time it feeds on a new victim.
Escape the Dark Entities before its deadly force eliminates all life aboard the station. Time is running out and in space, no one can hear you scream.
This year’s take on the maze will feature enhanced lighting effects and more scares than ever.
Puppet Up! – Uncensored – New for 2019
This off-the-cuff live show features a combination of improv comedy and puppetry, performed by a cast of comedian puppeteers from The Jim Henson Company. Created by Brian Henson and directed by Patrick Bristow, Puppet Up! – Uncensored is driven by audience suggestions and participation. This new show will be performed three times each night at Knott’s Scary Farm and is intended for mature audiences.
Knott’s Scary Farm’s annual live stage show will take a look back at this year’s pop culture with a killer comedy flair. Notorious for its special effects and high-flying stunts, The Hanging is an assault on pop culture’s most infamous moments of the past year.
Conjurers – Magic and Mirth in the Birdcage Theater
The Bird Cage Theatre will once again be the home of comedy and magic with this stage show. Join award-winning magicians and CW’s Masters of Illusion regulars as they take the stage. Guests can see magician Chipper Lowell and Dana Daniels perform on select nights.
Awaken the Dead
This non-stop DJ dance party has taken over Fiesta Village once again. Here, guests can rock out with candy skull go-go dancers and dance the night away with music loud enough to wake the dead.
Ghost Town Streets
The original, largest, and most terrifying scare zone that started it all, Ghost Town Streets lets half-human, half-animal monsters loose in the fog. Keep an eye out for the notorious sliders, who lunge at you from every corner.
On the Boardwalk, devilish clowns are craving your undying attention and ready to lure you in with their sinister antics.
Witches of the Hollow are on the loose, and their armies of creatures have risen once again to take on the Witch Hunter.
The Lake underneath Silver Bullet has receded to reveal the Forsaken Lake, where gothic creatures ravaged by the murky deep rise from their crypts to prey on unsuspecting victims.
