‘Galacticoaster’ indoor roller coaster opening at Legoland in Florida and California in 2026
Galacticoaster, a new indoor roller coaster, will open at both Legoland Florida and Legoland California in early 2026.

Merlin Entertainments, Legoland’s parent company, will spend approximately $90 million on these two new attractions. This indoor roller coaster intends to deliver thrills and excitement for families with children ages 2-12.
New Legoland roller coasters opening on both coasts

Galacticoaster at Legoland will be space-themed experiences launching in early 2026. The new coaster, according to Merlin Entertainments, promises to be the most technologically advanced attraction that a Legoland Resort has ever created. This will be brought to life by Merlin Magic Making’s global team of designers and engineers, in close collaboration with the Lego Group.
“This is more than just a ride! It’s a fully immersive mission that starts the minute guests enter the building,” said senior project manager of Merlin Magic Making, Blake Boyter. “From lift off to landing, the result is Legoland Florida’s most ambitious attraction to date — built for explorers big and small.”

Legoland Florida: Legoland Spaceport 885

This new space-themed Galacticoaster indoor roller coaster will be part of a larger theme park area. Guests will blast off from the Legoland Spaceport 885 launchpad, named in homage to one of the original Lego Space Scooter sets, #885. This marks the first new roller coaster to open inside the main Legoland Florida theme park since the resort’s debut in 2011.

A new merchandise location, Orbital Outpost, will offer guests the chance to touch down in a themed retail shop. It will be packed with souvenirs, space gear, and Lego sets to commemorate missions on the new Legoland roller coaster.
Galacticoaster will offer a unique queue experience. The journey begins before takeoff with a covered, story-driven queue area inside Legoland Spaceport 885. Legoland Florida stated that Spaceport 885 invites families to engage, imagine, and even stay dry while waiting to enjoy this new space-themed roller coaster.
There will also be a Duplo Tot sport for the younger explorers, ages 1-4. They can jump, crawl, and play in this shaded, soft-surfaced area featuring Duplo bricks, vehicles, characters, and a photo op, with nearby seating for grown-ups.
Legoland California: Legoland Spaceport 886

Over at Legoland California, significant changes are coming along with the new Galacticoaster. A brand-new, space-themed land is set to launch there. Similar to Legoland Florida, this new themed land is intended to complement the new Legoland roller coasters. For Legoland California, this will be the first new roller coaster in over two decades.
“This isn’t just about a new innovative coaster; it’s about creating an entire universe for our guests to explore, where the boundless creativity of Lego meets the wonders of space,” said senior project manager of Merlin Magic Making, Flora Liu. “We’ve designed it so that families can explore space together in a way that only Lego can make happen!”

Legoland California will feature its own spaceport, Legoland Spaceport #886. It is named in homage to one of the original Lego Space Buggy sets, #886. This theme park area will also feature three additional elements:
Junior Astronaut Training Zone – Those too small to ride the new Legoland roller coasters will have a dedicated toddler play area.
Galactic Grub and Gear – This new quick-service dining location promises “out-of-this-world food and beverages.”
Additionally, guests can browse the retail shop to commemorate their space adventure.
Merlin Entertainments teased that more information will appear as the TBA opening date for Galacticoaster approaches.
