Passholder preview dates announced for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World has finally shared the Passholder Preview dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which opens on Aug. 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier Passholders will soon have the chance to register to visit Batuu, explore the land, visit the shop and ride Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run at select times from Aug. 17-21.

Invitations to register will be sent out soon via email. Registered Passholders will be able to experience:

  • Riding Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
  • Exploring Black Spire Outpost
  • Shopping in the Batuuan marketplace
  • Dining in exotic Batuuan dining locations

Passholders will also be able to register for one additional experience from this list:

  • Oga’s Cantina
  • Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers

Event capacity and the number of reservations for this preview are limited and subject to availability. Advance registration is required. An eligible, activated Annual Pass is required to register. Reservations are limited to one per Passholder, are nontransferable and cannot be modified. If a Passholder wishes to bring a guest, that guest must also be a Platinum, Platinum Plus or Premier Passholder, be listed on your Family & Friends list, and have opted to share “All My Plans” with you.

For Oga’s Cantina, there is a maximum of 2 drinks per guest, and guests must be 21 or older to consume alcohol; valid photo ID is required. Seating is not guaranteed upon entry and separate parties may be seated together.

For Savi’s Workshop, a payment of $199.99 per lightsaber plus tax is required upon arrival. Admission to this experience is limited to a builder and one (1) guest. At least one person in the party must be age 14 or older. There can only be one lightsaber builder per experience. Keep in mind, custom lightsabers are nonrefundable and aren’t eligible for Annual Passholder or other discounts.

  1. So very excited! Hubby is huge Star Wars fan and we have a lot of the Lego’s and even a Star Wars bedroom!

  2. Does anyone know if this will effect regular ticket holders being able to enjoy Galaxy’s Edge? These dates just happen to coincide with our visit so I’m curious. Thank you!

    1. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge does not open to all guests until Aug. 29. So unless you fall under these Passholder tiers, you can’t visit the new land until opening day.
