Based on Soarin’ Around the World, this new attraction features new scenes exclusive to Tokyo Disney Resort. Riders on Soaring: Fantastic Flight will travel over famous landscapes around the world and experience matching breezes and scents for each scene.

The grand opening event in Tokyo features an appearance by Japanese professional figure skater Rika Kihira, one of the few women to have ever landed the triple axel jump in an international competition. Not to be missed, Mickey and Minnie were also on-hand for the celebration.

The new attraction also features the themed queue, called the “Museum of Fantastic Flight,” set in the hills of Mediterranean Harbor against the backdrop of an old-world Italian village. Dedicated to man’s dream of flying, the museum celebrates the achievements of Camellia Falco, an innovator in the field of aviation, and takes a look back at her life.

A tour of the museum includes a magical visit from the spirit of Camellia, and ends with guests boarding her greatest achievement – a flying vehicle of her own design called the Dream Flyer.

Another new addition also opened today at the Hangar Stage in Lost River Delta: the brand-new show, “Song of Mirage”! The new show features Mickey and the gang on an adventure to seek out the Rio Dorado (Spanish for “golden river”) and the foretold city of gold.

To cap off this day of grand openings, FastPass also made its debut today and is now available through the Tokyo Disney Resort app. The FastPass service allows guests to get faster access to 18 different attractions, including the brand-new Soaring: Fantastic Flight.
