Guinness World Record smallest commercially available popcorn container for ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’
A new Guinness World record has been set for the world’s smallest commercially available popcorn container, featuring Bowser from the upcoming “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”.

The official measurement took place at Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood on March 17, 2026. Attractions Magazine was one of a select number of media outlets invited to witness the measuring to qualify it as a Guinness World Record. You can see moments from the ceremony in our video below.
The official measurements, as documented by Guinness World Records, are:
- width = 65.0 millimeters
- height = 43.7 millimeters
- weight with popcorn = 33.27 grams
- weight without popcorn = 30.39 grams
- volume = 105 milliliters

This popcorn container, known as “Bowser’s Cauldron”, will be available at AMC Theatres beginning on April 1, 2026. This is also the release date for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie“.

The miniature size of the popcorn container is related to the fact that Bowser is shrunk at the end of the 2023 movie, “The Super Mario Bros”. Bowser remains shrunk for at least part of the upcoming film, as seen in the official trailer.
Need more “Super Mario Galaxy Movie” merch in your life? You can bet there is plenty already available, like special Bubly cans, a standard-size Yoshi popcorn bucket, and more stars on the way!
If you’re a fan of Super Mario or a collector of themed popcorn buckets, you’ll be sure to want to add this Guinness World Record holder when it becomes available on April 1, 2026.
