Guinness World Records announces ‘Heroes’ live stunt show
“Heroes of Guinness World Records” puts the spotlight on world-record breaking stunt performers, giving audiences a glimpse into how records are broken – and offering them the chance to attempt a record of their own.
The show, which was developed over the course of one year, is a collaboration between Guinness World Records and Mirage Entertainment Design Inc. and will feature adrenaline-fueled feats, professional MCs, and an official Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Paul O’Neill, vice president Creative at Guinness World Records, and head of the Entertainment Services Division, said: “Mirage and their performers are world class, so it was a natural fit to develop a show where they can push the boundaries of possibility and attempt official Guinness World Records titles. I can personally say that this is one of the most thrilling projects I have ever worked on, and if anything embodies the GWR tagline of ‘Officially Amazing’ then this show is it!”
Currently, shows themed as water-based, land-based, arena, and theme parks are ready for launch, with the location for the first show’s premier under discussion. No date for the inaugural show has been announced yet.
“In a world where so much entertainment is digital and passive, there is nothing quite like the ‘up-close-and-personal,’ heart-pounding aspect of live performance,” said David Draves, president of Shows and Attractions at Mirage Entertainment, Inc. “But now, our partnership with Guinness World Records brings a new level of ‘never-before-seen’ and unpredictability to each and every show. This project offers an opportunity to promote a truly unique audience participation experience – where local “Heroes” can shine alongside professional stunt performers and perhaps become Guinness World Records title holders!”
