Scare zones at Halloween Horror Nights 2025 (California)
Guests can walk through four scare zones at Halloween Horror Nights 2025 on the west coast. Three are new, while one (“Murder of Crowz”) returns from last year.
Universal hasn’t revealed much about the scare zones for 2025, but did say this:
As they begin their terrifying evening at Halloween Horror Nights, guests will need to dodge a troop of chainsaw killers in “Chainsaw Clownz” and escape a maniacal fun house in “Carnival of Carnage.” After surviving this year’s haunted house, “Monstruous 3: The Ghosts of Latin America,” guests will stumble upon a dimly lit street to brave the “Noche de Brujas” scare zone. The ever-popular “Murder of Crowz” flocks back to Halloween Horror Nights and will do anything to defend their nest.
Terror Tram
By day, trams are the means of travel for Universal’s World-Famous Studio Tour. During Halloween Horror Nights, the vehicles become part of the Terror Tram experience. For 2025, “Enter the Blumhouse” is once again the theme of the Terror Tram. Guests will disembark from the tram and encounter:
- The Grabber from “The Black Phone”
- the possessed from “Exorcist: The Believer”
- M3GAN
- killers from “The Purge”
- demons from “Insidious”
- Blissfield Butcher from “Freaky”
- Babyface Killer from “Happy Death Day”

To get you in the HHN mood (or … spirit …), enjoy this POV of 2024’s Terror Tram experience featuring characters from Blumhouse Productions movies like “M3GAN.”
Live show
Returning from years past, “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” performs in the amphitheater that hosts the “Water World” show during the daytime.
This fiery stunt spectacular puts you in the world of The Purge like you’ve never seen it before.

Anime short from Universal Japan in the U.S.
“Chainsaw Man: The Chaos,” an anime short from Universal Studios Japan, will make its U.S. debut inside the DreamWorks Theatre (usually home to the “Kung-Fu Panda” show) during Halloween Horror Nights 2025.
The film will play in-language and recounts the tale of Denji and the Devil Hunters as they battle the Halloween Horror Nights Devil and his army of zombies. Denji, resurrected into Chainsaw Man, a devil-human hybrid with protruding chainsaws from his body, ultimately takes control in a quest to combat the Devils. It’s an extreme showdown that dares guests to survive a chaos of screams and blood.
