New ‘Deathly Afraid’ necklace for less-scary Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando
Halloween Horror Nights will sell a “Deathly Afraid” necklace at Universal Studios Florida for guests who want a less-frightening experience in the event’s scare zones.

Universal told team members about the product ahead of this year’s HHN team member preview, Attractions Magazine can confirm.
The Deathly Afraid necklace “helps reduce direct interactions with scare actors,” according to Universal, within scare zones throughout the park, but doesn’t apply to haunted houses. That’s important: to reiterate, the Deathly Afraid necklace will do you no good inside the haunted houses.
The product will sell for $20. Guests can find it at theUniversal Studios Store (in both Universal Studios Florida and CityWalk), the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, Men In Black Gear Shop, and merchandise carts near Men In Black: Alien Attack.
Similar products have existed for many years at other haunt attractions; sometimes they’re known as “No Boo” necklaces (as seen below at Scarowinds).
