Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort is returning Sept. 2-Oct. 31, 2022, with seasonal décor, holiday celebrations, themed attraction overlays, and the separately-ticketed after-hours Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party.
“Throughout Disneyland park, you may encounter favorite Disney characters in brand-new Halloween looks or wickedly wonderful Disney villains looking to stir up a bit of mischief,” wrote Disneyland Public Relations Director Kelsey Lynch in the Disney Parks Blog. “Vibrant seasonal décor will transform Main Street, U.S.A., with whimsical pumpkin displays, while ghouls and goblins of all ages will enjoy taking photographs with the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin.”
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort includes the following:
Seasonal Attraction Overlays – A fan-favorite during Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort is the annual transformation (courtesy of Jack Skellington) of the Haunted Mansion into Haunted Mansion Holiday with frightfully festive decor inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” – including the mansion’s annual gingerbread house.
In Disney’s California Adventure Park, Radiator Springs will become Radiator Screams, where Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz, and Red don their “car-stumes” and Halloween makeovers turn Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. And when night falls in Avengers Campus, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! transforms into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark.
Plaza de la Familia and Día de los Muertos – From Sept. 2 – Nov. 2, 2022, the limited-time Plaza de la Familia in Paradise Gardens at California Adventure will celebrate the traditions of Día De Los Muertos, featuring food, décor, and entertainment inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “Coco,” including the lively street performance, “A Musical Celebration of Coco.”
Disneyland Park will also celebrate Día De Los Muertos with a display featuring a musical trio of skeleton figurines in Frontierland.
“Halloween Screams” – The supernatural projection and light show returns every night from Sept. 2 – Oct. 31, 2022 (with fireworks on weekend nights).
The seasonal nighttime spectacular can be viewed throughout the park, including Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, and in front of “it’s a small world.”
Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit – This year, the spookiest time of year will extend to the Downtown Disney District, with a pumpkin hunt available Sept. 9 – Oct. 31, 2022. Guests can pick up a game board and stickers at select merchandise locations ($9.99 plus tax) and then search for hidden pumpkins themed around Disney characters (placing corresponding stickers on the game board as they find them). Whether guests hunt for pumpkins or not, the game board can be returned to a redemption location for a prize.
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
The separately-ticketed after-hours Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party in California Adventure Park will take place on 23 select nights, Sept. 6-Oct. 31, 2022, and features character-themed treat trails, “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” stage show, the “Frightfully Fun Parade,” and the immersive Villains Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
