Happy Mother’s Day to Walt Disney World’s animal moms
Each year on Mother’s Day, we honor all the important women in our lives, but Walt Disney World Resort celebrates animal moms too. Walt Disney World also recently shared new updates on several baby animals born this spring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, adding even more reason for animal lovers to celebrate the park’s dedicated animal care team this Mother’s Day.

New baby animals continue to arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World recently shared updates on several baby animals born this spring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, adding even more adorable moments for guests visiting this Mother’s Day season.
Baby giraffe continues growing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
One of the newest additions is Tucker, a Masai giraffe calf born earlier this year at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests riding Kilimanjaro Safaris may be able to spot the young giraffe alongside his mother as he continues exploring the savanna habitat and growing into one of the park’s tallest residents.
Disney’s animal care team says giraffe calves can stand within an hour of being born, helping them quickly adapt to life on the savanna.

For now, the calf is spending time backstage with mom Willow, but perhaps in time for Disney’s Cool Kids’ Summer, the calf will join the animals at Kilimanjaro Safari and be one of the new cool kids.
Parker the nyala calf debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney also introduced Parker, a male nyala calf born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Nyala are antelopes native to southern Africa, known for their distinctive striped coats and spiral horns. Parker has started exploring the savanna habitat while staying close to his mother, giving guests at the lodge another chance to spot a growing baby animal during their stay.

Red river hog piglets are exploring their habitat
Guests may already recognize red river hog piglets Mason, Cooper, and Phillip, born to mom Clementine, along with Demi, who was born shortly afterward to mom Persimmon.
The piglets have begun exploring their savanna habitat at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and are already showing off plenty of personality as they stay close to their mothers and discover their surroundings.

Known for their bright reddish fur and playful behavior, red river hogs often become guest favorites thanks to their energetic antics and close family bonds.
Mabel the Ankole calf marks a rare Disney birth
Another standout new arrival is Mabel, the first Ankole calf born at Walt Disney World in more than 20 years.
Currently thriving under the care of Disney’s animal care team, Mabel may be small for now, but she will eventually grow the massive, sweeping horns that make Ankole cattle one of the most recognizable animals seen on the savannas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
