Hasbro-themed amusement park opening in Canada

A Hasbro-themed amusement park is now in development for Canada’s Galaxyland, an amusement park located at West Edmonton Mall.

Galaxyland is home to the world’s tallest and longest indoor roller coaster, the Mindbender, as well as the world’s tallest indoor tower ride, the Space Shot.

The park will undergo a transformation encompassing the 165,000 square foot facility, using Hasbro’s recognizable brands like My Little Pony, Monopoly, Nerf, Play-Doh, G.I. Joe, Operation, and more. The brands will come to life with over 25 rides, games, and attractions. The park will also include a unique Hasbro retail experience and themed dining locations. When the park reopens, it will then be called “Galaxyland powered by Hasbro.”

“Galaxyland has been providing entertainment to locals and visitors from around the world for more than three decades, and we’re thrilled to bring a number of exciting rides and activities themed to many of Hasbro’s iconic brands,” said Matt Proulx, vice president of Location Based Entertainment for Hasbro. “When ‘Galaxyland powered by Hasbro’ officially opens, we’re sure that fans and families will get to experience their favorite brands like never before.”

Construction begins this month, with a grand opening scheduled for the winter of 2020. Galaxyland will remain open throughout the construction process.
