Haunted Mansion expansion and new Madame-Leota-themed shop coming to Disneyland
The Haunted Mansion at the Disneyland Resort will receive eerie enhancements in 2024 with an expanded outdoor queue and new Madame Leota-themed retail shop at the attraction’s exit.
The Haunted Mansion expansion will feature enhanced theming and build on the iconic attraction’s story with a new legend that a prosperous sea captain built the manor house.
The queue’s new gardens will be inspired by Master Gracey, Madame Leota, and the one-eyed cat, each with unique elements, including a fountain and gazebo, as well as themed statuary and landscaping. The gardens will also feature a new greenhouse, but have no fear; the pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse will remain.
The all-new retail shop in the carriage house at the attraction exit will extend Leota’s presence beyond the mansion walls.
Additional Enhancements
Disneyland has also announced enhancements to the plaza between the mansion and Tiana’s Palace, where diners can enjoy seating in a park-like setting and live entertainment from the restaurant’s stage.
The park also plans to improve accessibility for these areas, including a new elevator exit from the Haunted Mansion for guests with disabilities.
Construction on these additions and enhancements will begin in January 2024. Additional information will be shared early next year.
Haunted Mansion Holiday featuring characters from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” returns to Disneyland beginning Sept. 1, 2023.
This looks impressive and will add to the experience.
I do wish the ANbC-makeover would also happen at WDW; it’s superb fun and there is much more to look at.
