Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster song choices reduced from 30 to five

The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster has been letting guests choose from among 30 different songs they’d like to hear during the ride since the coaster opened at Universal Studios Florida in 2009. Now, they’ve updated the songs, but have also cut the options down to five.

A Universal Orlando spokesperson told us, “The time has come for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit to welcome new music to the coaster experience, while saying goodbye to the former songs. The coaster now features one new song in each existing music genre. Moving forward we will only feature one song per genre to simplify the selection experience. We can’t wait for our fans to enjoy a new beat to this great attraction.”

Before the change, the ride offered five different genre choices, with six songs for guests to choose from in each genre, for a total of 30. Now they just need to pick the genre and that genre’s song is what they will hear during the ride. Here are the song choices, according to our friends at Orlando Informer:

Classic Rock/Metal: “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance
Rap/Hip-Hop: “Humble” by Kendrick Lamar
Club/Electronica: “Sandstorm” by Darude
Pop/Disco: “Waterloo” by ABBA
Country: “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” By Shania Twain

Don’t like those choices? Don’t worry, the hidden song list is still active. Visit our full Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit hidden song list page for dozens of song choices. Just be warned, we haven’t checked lately to make sure all of them are still accurate.

  1. Heh. My Chemical Romance is neither classic rock nor metal. I love that song, but it’s a terrible choice for a ride. If it’s gotta be MCR, something frantic like I’m Not Okay would be better. From this list, I’d pick Waterloo every time….if this wasn’t a super painful coaster I’ll never ride again.

  2. Still disappointed that they already cut Evanescence long ago and that a coaster with rock music never had GNR songs, but I’ll take MCR’s Black Parade for a ride because it’s a pretty great song, then I’ll probably go back to Immigrant Song (Secret Song 113)

  3. It take 1:47 for Black Parade to kick in with some adrenaline. The ride only lasts 1:39. Good song but dumb song for this ride.

Multiple song options for each genre was better. I hate 4/5 of these options and the one I like as a song… see above.
