Hear a message from Mickey Mouse in the Play Disney Parks app after your Disney vacation

It’s always hard to say goodbye when your Disney vacation comes to an end — but now, guests leaving Walt Disney World Resort will have a fun surprise to look forward to when they get home, thanks to the Play Disney Parks app.

After a 3-night or longer stay at a Disney Resort hotel in 2020, guests will receive a newly-created letter thanking them for their visit. On it will be a QR code that unlocks a hidden screen in the app, bringing to life an animation featuring Mickey Mouse — who appears via a special augmented reality (AR) effect.

After receiving the message from Mickey, guests will receive a special “Thanks for the Magic” digital achievement in the app. You can get a sneak peek of this new effect in the video below:
