Hersheypark adds Evolv touchless security screening system
Hersheypark is the latest theme park to utilize the Evolv Technology touchless security screening system to help aid COVID-19 safety measures and quicker guest entry.
This new security system was first implemented at some Six Flags theme parks, and is now also in use at some of Walt Disney World’s park checkpoints. It allows for up to 3,600 people per hour to be screened before entering the park, while still facilitating social distancing and minimizing person-to-person interaction. Guests don’t have to stop to be screened, nor empty their pockets or remove any bags; they simply just walk through the screening area at a normal pace. At Hersheypark, the Evolv Express screening systems are located at the park’s new main entrance.

Response to the new screening system at Hersheypark has been positive, with guests welcoming the rapid and unobtrusive process. The park’s security professionals have said the system is easy to learn and use.
“We knew our former security screening process would provide challenges in the pandemic environment,” said Jason White, managing director of corporate safety and security at Hershey Entertainment and Resorts. “We’d already been evaluating how we could improve on our guest screening process and had piloted Evolv Express last fall because the system could accommodate thousands of people an hour in a frictionless, no-stop flow. As we began formulating the security screening aspect of our pandemic reopening strategy, it was clear that Evolv Express was the best solution that could meet our requirements. Our guests and security staff have been pleasantly surprised at the speed of the touchless screening experience that largely eliminates manual bag checks.”
