The “Hey Disney!” custom voice assistant will be available in select Walt Disney World hotel guest rooms to bring Disney characters and stories to life in magical new ways. Plus, Disney fans will also be able to add the feature to their devices at home.

Using Alexa technology for supported Amazon Echo devices, “Hey Disney!” will begin rolling out later this year as part of the resort’s 50th anniversary celebration. Access will be offered as an optional complimentary feature during guest stays to add magic to familiar Alexa services such as weather forecasts, timers, and alarms with the help of more than 25 Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Olaf, Rocket and Groot, Princess Tiana, and many more.

Hey, Disney - Characters

“Hey Disney!” also introduces an all-new character – the Disney Magical Companion – who will help guests discover more than a thousand magical interactions, from hearing greetings and jokes from authentic Disney character voices to exploring audio environments inspired by Disney films and destinations.

Plus, Disney Resort hotel guests will be able to learn helpful information about their vacation or access hotel services by asking questions like “Hey, Disney! When does the next bus to Epcot depart?” or “Hey, Disney! Can we have some extra towels?”

The feature will also be available for purchase in the U.S. for supported Amazon Echo devices via the Amazon Alexa Skills Store, inviting Disney fans to bring some Disney magic into their homes. In the future, MagicBand+ will pair with supported Amazon Echo devices to enhance certain “Hey Disney!” experiences. More details will be released soon.
