Accio New Hogwarts Projection Show!

School’s out for summer, but class is in session (narratively speaking, at least) at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The castle’s exterior becomes a canvas for projection mapping in the new “Hogwarts Always” nighttime show at Universal Islands of Adventure.

The production imagines the audience as new Hogwarts students and embarks upon a journey through the Hogwarts school year, from classes to Quidditch to everything in between.

Each performance of “Hogwarts Always” concludes with one of four possible endings, one for each Hogwarts house: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw.

Like its Dark Arts and holiday season predecessors, “Hogwarts Always” is strictly a projection show, not a fireworks spectacular (though the finale does briefly include some pyrotechnics). Guests seeking fireworks should head next door to Universal Studios Florida, where pyro is front and center — along with drones and fountains — during “CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular,” a new lagoon show which likewise features “Harry Potter” moments.

How to See “Hogwarts Always”

“Hogwarts Always” performs “select nights” now through Aug. 25, 2024 at Islands of Adventure. The seven-minute show begins around dusk and runs continuously until the park closes. Neither Universal’s app nor website specifies which “select nights” the production will take place.
