New details, booking date revealed for Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris has shared new details on the upcoming Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, which will celebrate 80 years of Marvel history in a New York setting.
The hotel will be inspired by a New York art gallery, paying homage to the city that is home to so many Super Heroes in the Marvel universe – as well as the artists who created them.
When the hotel reopens in summer 2020, it will be the first-ever hotel dedicated entirely to Marvel art and will feature one of the largest publicly viewable collection of Marvel artwork in the world.
Disneyland Paris is collaborating with more than 50 artists from Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios to create more than 300 pieces of art for the hotel, including comic book covers, posters, illustrations from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, original sketches, storyboards and more.
This hotel renovation will include completely redesigned rooms with a more modern feel, with Marvel art in each room and subtle inspiration from Iron Man in all Empire State Club rooms. Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will also have suites themed to the Avengers and Spider-Man.
Those staying in Club and Suite rooms will get to enjoy exclusive amenities and services, like a dedicated reception area and access to the Empire State Lounge, a private, elegant lounge where guests can enjoy breakfast.
The hotel will also offer unique restaurants and bars that celebrate the art of Marvel:
Manhattan Restaurant
This location will be an elegant and refined table service restaurant, featuring a chandelier inspired by Thor’s palace in Asgard. The menu will feature flavors inspired by a family-owned Italian trattoria with fresh and local products.
Downtown Restaurant
This restaurant will be a culinary journey through a cosmopolitan New York, as typical American dishes combine with flavors from Chinatown and Little Italy. There will also be a selection of Marvel-inspired specialties, and the walls of the restaurant will display 90 sketched portraits featuring Marvel Super Heroes.
Skyline Bar
This elegant New York martini bar will offer views of the skyline of New York, featuring some heroic surprises. Here, guests will find cocktails alongside a selection of wines.
Lounge Bar
This bar will be Manhattan loft-style, serving fresh and organic products like biodynamic wines, bottled beers from craft breweries, and more.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will also be the first Disney hotel to host Marvel Super Hero meet-and-greets. Guests will be able to encounter their favorite heroes each morning in a location called Super Hero Station. In addition, guests can take part in fun photo-ops like joining the Collector’s Collection and wielding Thor’s hammer.
A stay at the renovated hotel will also offer many other amenities, including:
- Metro Pool – an indoor and outdoor pool complex with a jacuzzi, sauna, and Turkish bath
- Metro Health Club – a fitness center equipped with machines and sports accessories, along with various outdoor sports activities
- Marvel Design Studio – a dedicated space for kids to learn how to draw their favorite Super Heroes inspired by the workshops where the comics are created
Guests can find fun souvenirs to commemorate their stay at the New York Boutique, which will offer a selection of exclusive and collectible Marvel products.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will be available to book starting on Nov. 5, 2019, with the hotel expected to open in summer 2020.
