“I started this [Ordinary People Change the World] series so I could give my kids better heroes to look up to,” said Meltzer. “For my youngest son, we have ‘I Am Walt Disney,’ who used his ingenuity and creativity to make real magic. He is proof that you can use your creativity to put good into the world. That’s exactly what we’re trying to do with this series. As the book says: We can all use some magic in our lives. If you look, it’s there.”

This biography series focuses on what makes our heroes great, and traits that children can aspire to have in order to be the best they can be. Each book in the Ordinary People Change the World series tells the story of one of America’s iconic figures in a fun, conversational way for kids, while also including the subject’s childhood influences. At the back of each book are a timeline and photos.

Sorry, but Walt an Roy Disney were anything but ordinary. God we could sure use more like them today. And I’ll toss in Lee Iacocca as well.
