Illuminarium Las Vegas transports visitors to space
Illuminarium Las Vegas, the tech-based immersive experience at Area15, has debuted Space: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond, an interactive exhibition featuring imagery from NASA’s James Webb Telescope (JWST) at a scale never seen before.
Through Illuminarium’s high-tech animation systems and 360-degree fully-immersive screens, guests visiting the exhibition will see a 3-D recreation of how the JWST (which is the size of a football field) fit into a rocket less than 30 feet in diameter and unfolded like “a gigantic Swiss army knife.”
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share imagery from the James Webb telescope through our immersive-360 experiences,” said lluminarium Las Vegas General Manager Calum Pearson. “These jaw-dropping images are a feast for the eyes, giving a unique view of our galaxies, taking us to places we could never imagine. And when it is seen at this over-the-top scale that Illuminarium provides, it will take your breath away.”
Space: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond features technology, including 4K laser projection, 3-D audio, LIDAR based interactivity, in-floor sensation-creating haptics, and even scent, bringing unique authenticity to the immersive experience. Guests should note strobe effects, gentle floor vibration, immersive sound, and realistic and responsive projection may also be part of the experience.
Space After Dark
On Friday and Saturday evenings, Illuminarium Las Vegas offers Space After Dark, a special interactive JWST experience for guests ages 21+.
Space After Dark will allow guests to interact with Cosmic Cliffs, Tarantula Nebulas, The Southern Ring, Pillars of Creation, and more. Viewers can even affect what they see on the walls with a wave of their hand.

- Space After Dark (21+) – 8 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (one complimentary signature cocktail is included per ticket)
