Inside the Pixar ‘Elemental Experience’ mall tour
Disney and Pixar’s Elemental Experience, a five-city mall tour, kicked off this weekend in New York City. Let’s take a look inside!

From now until June 18, 2023, visitors can step into the world of the newest Pixar movie during the Elemental Experience, which features photo-ops, free goodies, and an animation tutorial. The tour is sponsored by Fandango, Dolby, and I’m the Chef Too.
A Pixar Pop-Up
Peter Sohn, director of “Elemental” and Pixar veteran, cut the ribbon at the tour’s first stop. Sohn was joined by Lisa Cabello, manager of synergy partnership marketing at Walt Disney Studios.
As visitors enter the Elemental Experience, they can snap a photo with Wade and Ember, the stars of the film.
Once inside, they can explore the environments each of the elements call home, and even take home a planter as a party favor from the earth residents.
Budding artists can learn to draw Wade and Ember in a presentation akin to Animation Academy at the Disney theme parks. Observant guests may notice the theming of this area matches the real Pixar headquarters in Emeryville, Calif., which Imagineers also emulated for Pixar Plaza at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Naturally, you can’t have a Pixar director in immediate proximity to a pencil and paper and not ask them to draw their characters. Sohn sketched the perfect Ember and Wade while visiting the tour.

- May 26-28, 2023: Yorktown Center in Chicago, Ill.
- Junr 2-4, 2023: Stonebriar Centre in Dallas, Tex.
- June 10-12, 2023: The Americana at Brand in Los Angeles, Calif.
- June 16-18, 2023: Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Francisco, Calif.
