International Drive roller coaster planned from operator of canceled Skyplex ‘Polercoaster’
A new roller coaster and triple-drop tower are planned for International Drive in Orlando from the same operator as the canceled Skyplex Skyscraper aka the “Polercoaster.”

At IAPPA Expo this week, the S&S ~ Sansei Technologies booth showed off some very intriguing concept art: a roller coaster and triple-drop tower sitting in front of Mango’s Tropical Café, a latin restaurant and nightclub in the heart of International Drive (I-Drive) in Orlando, Fla. The Mango’s site also includes Corazon by Baires restaurant, and the Hollywood Plaza Garage, which houses an official Disney World gift shop on the ground level, and a Disney World digital billboard at the top. Tom’s Watch Bar is also at the top of the garage.
Mango’s is operated by Wallack Holdings, the same company behind the never-built Skyplex, including the Skyscraper polercoaster, previously planned for International Drive as the world’s tallest roller coaster. That project, which was to be located just down the street from Mango’s, on the corner of I-Drive and Sand Lake Road, was officially canceled about a year ago.

No formal announcement for the future coaster at Mango’s has been made at this time, as S&S continues to be playfully vague when it comes to concrete details. We approached them about the new roller coaster during IAAPA Expo and a representative had this to say: “We posted a photo that shows a roller coaster at Mango’s, and Mango’s gave us permission to post it. More info to come.”
In speaking with the “Orlando Business Journal“, Joshua Wallack said “Our hope is that we can continue to be a great place for residents and locals — but we really need to raise the bar for entertainment.” Wallack is also working with Orange County for the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Sand Lake Road and International Drive.
The proposed coaster resembles the compact nature of something like Tigris at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay or The Joker at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. Wallack told the Journal a roller coaster just like the one planned can currently be found at Ocean City on the Jersey Shore in New Jersey.

For some more details on the Mango’s coaster, @ridewithace on Instagram interviewed a S&S representative, who confirmed, “Of course it’s real! I mean, that is a major plan. A lot happens in a small space; S&S is good at putting big things in small spaces. I think that is equal to that. Something we can’t share a lot about.”
