‘Interstellar’ in IMAX 70mm film and digital formats
All right, all right, all right. “Interstellar” starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will return to select movie theaters for IMAX 70mm film screenings (locations listed below), as well as digital screenings, from Dec. 6-12, 2024. 70mm tickets launched on Nov. 7, the movie’s official 10th anniversary date. Digital tickets are not yet available.
“Interstellar” is directed by Christopher Nolan. By the time “Interstellar” debuted in 2014, Nolan had already helmed the “Batman” trilogy (including “The Dark Knight”) and “Inception.” Post-“Interstellar,” Nolan would go on to direct “Tenet” and “Oppenheimer.”

‘Interstellar’ IMAX digital screenings in movie theaters
In addition to IMAX 70mm film, “Interstellar” will return to select theaters as an IMAX digital reissue. Cities and movie theater locations for the digital screenings have not been announced at the time of this writing, but tickets will go live sometime in November.

The legacy 10 years later
“Interstellar” debuted in theaters Nov. 7, 2014 and won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects (Paul Franklin Andrew Lockley, Ian Hunter, and Scott Fisher). It was also nominated for four additional Oscars: Best Score (Hans Zimmer), Best Production Design (Nathan Crowley and Gary Fettis), Best Sound Editing (Richard King), Best Sound Mixing (Gary A. Rizzo, Gregg Landaker, and Mark Weingarten).
