Central Florida’s newest water park will make a big splash when Island H2O Live! opens at Margaritaville Resort Orlando this spring.

This social media-inspired resort will connect water park fun to the digital world.

Island H2O Live! will feature 20 slides and other fun experiences, including a wave pool, lazy river, a kids’ area, and a family river raft ride.

The park will allow guests to customize their water park experience and share it with the world through a new RFID wristband system. This will let guests personalize the music and lighting they experience on select attractions, offering a unique experience each time.

“Water parks are known for exhilarating rides and attractions, but Island H2O Live! will let guests be playful in interactive ways that have never been seen before,” said Albo Antenucci Jr., executive in charge for Horizon Waterpark, LLC. “These incredible opportunities for engagement will be what Island H2O Live! is all about.”

The park’s theme, slide names and attraction areas will be themed to social media. Riders will hang ten on the family tube ride, Hashtag Heights, plummet down Follow Me Falls, and speed to the finish line on Retweet Racers. In addition to these attractions, adults can enjoy the Private Domain pool, or sip on a cocktail from the Tag Shack.

The wristband system for Island H2O Live!, called Vantage, works through an app that guests will download either before or when they arrive at the park. Once there, guests will sync the app to their wristbands and scan them at certain slides – the scanners will automatically play songs and lighting effects chosen by the guests.

On some slides, Vantage will enable cameras to take photos and video and share the content directly to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media platforms.

Another feature of the system is “Be Live,” which invites guests to sing karaoke or take a staring role in other audio-visual experiences with clips from their experiences shared through the app. Guests can also earn loyalty points with every ride. These points can be used to win prizes like free food and beverage items, skip-the-line passes, and more.

“These features speak to the ‘Live’ part of our name,” said Antenucci Jr. “Customization offers guests the creative space to develop their own adventure, to be in the moment, but then capture those moments and share them in real-time.”

Once your day is done at Island H2O Live!, keep the party going by taking a short trolley ride or walking to Margaritaville Resort Orlando or Sunset Walk.

Basing something off of the internet and social media is a gimmick, tbh.
