This water park will feature nine different thrill rides, a 1,300-foot-long lazy river with beach entry, a 24,000-square-foot dual beach wave pool, a kids’ area, and a river raft ride for the whole family to enjoy. The park will use a new RFID wristband system that will allow guests to customize their experience, such as changing the music and lighting on select rides.

“Water parks are known for exhilarating rides and attractions, but Island H2O Live! will let guests be playful in interactive ways that have never been seen before,” said Albo Antenucci Jr., executive in charge for Horizon Waterpark, LLC, the owner of the water park. “These incredible opportunities for engagement will be what Island H2O Live! is all about.”

The wristband system that will be used by the park is called Vantage, the latest offering from waterslide manufacturer, WhiteWater West. The system works through an app that guests can download either before or when they arrive at the park. Once there, guests can sync the app to their wristbands, and a scanner on certain slides will read them and automatically play songs and lighting effects from their previously made selections.

On some slides, this technology will enable cameras to take photos and video, and share the content directly to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or other social media sites. Guests can also customize their slide experience through choosing music playlists, lighting preferences, and tagging their social media handles for easy sharing.

Another feature, “Be Live,” will invite guests to sing karaoke and star in other audio/visual experiences with clips shared through the app. Guests can also earn loyalty points with every ride, which can be exchanged for prizes like free food and beverage items, skip-the-line passes, and more.

“These features speak to the ‘Live’ part of our name,” said Antenucci Jr. “Customization offers guests the creative space to develop their own adventures, to be in the moment, but then capture those moments and share them in real-time.”

For guests looking for a bit more relaxation, the water park has plenty of hammocks, cabanas, and soft sand beaches. This water park will also be the first in the area to feature an adults-only area, which will offer a 2,500-square-foot formal pool with deck space and lounge area. Island H2O Live! will also have DJs, dance parties, and available event space.
