This year’s activities include trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, and the brand-new Calico Carnival Costume Cavalcade, where guests ages 3-11 are encouraged to wear their Halloween best. The event will take place weekends Sept. 25 – Oct. 31.
Over in Camp Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the Peanuts gang will be in costume for photo opportunities and meet-and-greets. Ghouls ages 3-11 can take part in the trick-or-treating offering throughout Schoolhouse Road and Ghost Town’s Main Street. During trick-or-treating, kids can interact with spooky-yet-friendly shopkeepers and show of their costumes. In Ghost Town, Stanley Scarecrow has opened the Livery Stable for guests of all ages to meet the Creepy Critters of Calico.
Calico Park will transform into a whimsical pumpkin patch complete with photo opportunities and crafters. Miniature pumpkins and Halloween cookies will be available for decorating for a small fee. Linus will be out in the pumpkin patch assisting little ones in selecting the perfect pumpkin.
The Bob Baker Marionette Theatre Show will bring a new Halloween-themed puppet show to the Birdcage Theatre. The Camp Snoopy theater will also be debuting the “Great Pumpkin Palooza” show, an energized musical tribute featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the Peanuts Gang.
At Camp Snoopy, families can hop aboard the Grand Sierra Railroad as they join Linus in the Pumpkin Patch as he and Sally eagerly await the arrival of The Great Pumpkin. A Trip To Camp Spooky features 2D and 3D Halloween-themed characters and effects along the way.
Timber Mountain Log Ride will once again receive the fan-favorite overlay as it becomes the Halloween Hootenanny. Guests will be greeted by the mysterious creatures of Timber Mountain, pass by the Calico Coffin Creeper Band, and be treated to an original song performed by Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies.
Calico Mine Ride will be transformed with a new seasonal overlay, Calico Candy Mine Ride, where everything on their sweet-filled journey will mysteriously turn into pure candy. Hosted by Calico Mayor and Cameo Kate, younger guests are encouraged to show off their costumes in the new Calico Carnival Costume Cavalcade at the Calico Mine Stage.
