Legoland California Resort President Kurt Stocks and the citizens of “Bricksburg” welcomed invited guests to enjoy the six interactive attractions that make up the largest addition to the Carlsbad, Calif. park since their opening in 1999.

“I think we all know it’s been a tough year across all communities,” said Stocks. “But the great news is we are rapidly soaring towards brighter days filled with fun, laughter, and excitement.”

Originally scheduled to open in March 2020 and delayed due to the pandemic, families are now finally able to experience this new land, which brings to life the adventures of Emmet, Wyldstyle, Benny, Unikitty, and other characters from “The Lego Movie.”

Stocks praised the efforts of the “Model Citizens” (Legoland employees) who brought the land to life. “The Lego Movie World truly has something for everyone,” Stocks enthused. “We’re excited to welcome more guests to experience this new land, which takes them from the theater to the theme park.”

“Our goal here at Legoland Resort is for kids to be the heroes and know that they can do and build anything that they can dream,” Stocks concluded, capping his speech with a quote from the films’ protagonist, Emmet Brickowski: “You are capable of amazing things.”

Along with dancers, costumed characters, and Legoland California’s junior ambassadors, Stocks declared The Lego Movie World open to guests, complete with an “Everything is Awesome” dance party and a shower of colorful streamers.

Legoland California guests looking to visit The Lego Movie World will want to set aside at least an hour or two to experience all the fun Bricksburg has to offer.

The littlest Legoland visitors can explore Benny’s Playship, take a ride on Queen Watevra’s Carousel, and spark their creativity with Lego bricks at the Build Watevra You Wa’Na Build zone.

Guests 40 inches or taller are sure to fall for the thrills of Unikitty’s Disco Drop, as well as The Lego Movie World’s flagship attraction, Emmet’s Flying Adventure, where riders race through Lego landscapes on Emmet’s triple decker flying couch.

Guests of all ages can meet Emmet or one of his friends at Emmet’s Super Suite, then pose for an out-of-this-world souvenir photo. The Awesome Shop is full of merchandise — including Legoland exclusives — themed to “The Lego Movie.”

There are also new dining locations to satisfy hungry Bricksburg visitors. Benny’s Rocket Fuel offers drinks and snacks, Cloud Cuckoo Crepes serves up a variety of sweet crepes, and Everything is Ramen! specializes in homemade ramen, rice bowls, and salads.

Admission to The Lego Movie World is included with paid ticket entry to Legoland California Resort. Due to limited capacity restrictions required by the CDC and state guidelines, all guests are required to make advance reservations to Legoland theme park, Sea Life Aquarium, and Legoland Water Park.
