Legoland New York Resort celebrates 90 years of Lego with “90 Surprises per week” giveaways
Legoland New York is giving away 90 surprises each week during a grand celebration of the Lego Group’s 90th anniversary, now through August 19, 2022.
The event kicked off with the arrival of a 20-foot-tall cake made of more than 180,000 Lego elements, and prize giveaways that range from Lego building sets to VIP all-inclusive hotel stays.
The cake will go on display starting June 14, 2022 and will remain on view and for photo ops throughout the summer.
Children who visit Legoland New York on Thursday-Sunday from now through August 19 will receive a limited-edition lanyard when they enter the park.
Ninety kids will be surprised by the inclusion of a card inside their lanyard that gives them a special prize.
Prizes include:
- Popcorn and candy buckets
- Minifigure prizes
- Lego sets valued at more than $200
- Free tickets to the park
- VIP experiences
- Annual passes
A few guests will even be given an all-inclusive VIP Legoland hotel stay.
“For 90 years, the Lego Group has inspired creativity and joy among children, and as a theme park, Lego play is in our DNA,” said Legoland New York Resort Divisional Director Stephanie Johnson. “This summer, for our first full season, we decided to take the celebrations up a notch with even more surprises and giveaways to pull out all the stops for the first full season of Legoland New York Resort!”
Legoland New York will also honor its first birthday with additional experiences such as new entertainment and shows, new Lego models, and the park’s first-ever Red, White, & Boom 4th of July celebration.
New in-park touchpoints designed to spur creativity and imagination will be added to Legoland parks around the world as the Lego Group invites guests to “Play Your Way” during their 90th anniversary.
