‘Magic Happens’ parade premiere date revealed for Disneyland park
The all-new “Magic Happens” daytime parade announced for Disneyland park back at D23 Expo 2019 now has a premiere date!
The new parade will debut on Feb. 28, 2020, celebrating the moments of magic at the heart of Disney stories.
Mickey Mouse will lead the spectacle down Main Street, U.S.A., with a parade of floats, costumes, and Disney characters following behind. The parade will also feature an energetic musical score and new song co-composed by singer-songwriter and YouTuber Todrick Hall.
Here’s a look at some of the floats:
One float will be inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2,” featuring Anna and Elsa exploring the enchanted forest protected by Nokk, the water spirit, along with their friends Kristoff, Sven and Olaf.
Another float will feature Moana on her voyager canoe, as she sails high on a wave. The float will be inspired by koa wood carvings and inset with glimpses at the magic the ocean holds.
Joining Moana will be none other than Maui, the legendary demigod, who will make his Disneyland Resort debut with this parade. Joining him will be Moana’s pet pig, Pua.
Miguel will appear in person for the first time ever in this parade, celebrating the magic that happens when he strums the guitar of Ernesto de la Cruz from the Disney/Pixar film, “Coco.” This float will bridge the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead with a sea of marigolds and a procession of alebrije spirits – as well as Miguel’s dog, Danté.
The grand finale of “Magic Happens” will celebrate moments from classic Disney stories, including the ‘happily-ever-after’ scene from “Sleeping Beauty.” The float will feature the three good fairies and Princess Aurora’s gown glittering between hues of pink and blue.
