From entering theme parks and connecting to Disney PhotoPass to unlocking your Disney hotel room door and purchasing snacks, MagicBand allows Disney World guests to tap their way to a fun and easy vacation at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Now, in addition to everything MagicBand has to offer, the new MagicBand+ wearable also has color-changing lights, haptic vibrations, and gesture recognition – plus, it will pair to your smartphone through the My Disney Experience mobile app.

MagicBand+ Disney Fab 50 Quest

The Disney Fab 50 Character Collection was introduced throughout all four theme parks as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration, but with the new “Disney Fab 50 Quest,” guests can use their MagicBand+ bands to help Tinker Bell bring the sculptures to life by waving their hand to sprinkle virtual pixie dust at each golden statue for a different reaction.

To unlock even more magic during the quest, guests can use the Play Disney Parks app to collect the sculptures and enter favorite characters’ worlds through an augmented reality feature.

Check out this video featuring Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel in “The Little Mermaid”), who embarked on the quest with her friends Sebastian and Flounder:

Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters

Bounty hunting is big business on Batuu, and thanks to the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience, guests can get in on the action by following the vibrations and lights on their MagicBand+ to locate and unlock bounties hidden across Black Spire Outpost.

Once they find their Bounty, guests can use the Play Disney Parks app’s augmented reality thermal viewer to reveal who’s hiding in the shadows – plus, local guild master Raga Bua will reward successful bounty hunters with galactic credits.

Nighttime Spectaculars

Nighttime spectaculars will be more spectacular as MagicBand+ complements the magic by lighting up and vibrating in sync with the fireworks, visual effects, and music during “Disney Enchantment” at the Magic Kingdom park and “Harmonious” at Epcot.
