Maker Faire Orlando returns with a theme park panel and more
The 11th annual Maker Faire Orlando returns Nov. 4-5, 2023, including a new stage presented by Universal Creative with a theme park panel.

The family-friendly celebration at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando, Fla., features local do-it-yourself science, art, rockets, robots, crafts, technology, music, and hands-on activities that showcase invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.
“Maker Faire Orlando is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do,” said founder Ian Cole. “From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these ‘makers’ to show their hobbies, experiments, or projects for others to glimpse the future and get inspired.”

Individuals behind the exhibits – known as “makers” – include tech enthusiasts, crafters, scientists, and this year, even “theme park makers” like Bill Butler of Garner Holt Productions and Scott Harkless of Alcorn McBride, who will be featured along with a panelist from Universal Creative during a special discussion on Nov. 4, 2023, at 11 a.m.
Additional presentations on the new Maker Faire stage presented by Universal Creative include:

- Jen Schachter – The mastermind behind large-scale public art projects and collaborative builds.
- Michael Corrie – Film historian and model maker
- Allison Chase – Award-winning cosplay creator
- Christine Getman – Magic Wheelchair Executive Director
- Caleb Kraft – Contributing editor for Make: Magazine
