“Welcome aboard heroes, with a big Fins Up thank you for your service,” said singer, songwriter, and author, Jimmy Buffett. “Now we feel honored to serve you—at sea.”

Margaritaville at Sea is offering their first-ever “Heroes Sail Free” program to U.S. military service members (active duty and veterans), police, firefighters, EMS personnel, and educators, who are invited to take advantage of free fare on one cruise to the Bahamas.

“To show our sincere gratitude for their ongoing service, we wanted to offer these frontline heroes a chance to kick off their boots and work shoes and flip flop into a relaxing getaway,” said Kevin Sheehan, Jr., president and CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. “We hope a little downtime to recover from the demands of their day-to-day responsibilities is just what they need.”

The program was created in coordination with the military and government ecommerce site, GovX.com, giving frontline heroes a break from their work with some R ‘n R onboard the cruise line’s flagship vessel, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise.

Cruisers will have the opportunity to enjoy dining at the ship’s eateries such as JWB Prime Steakhouse and the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill. Relaxation is the top priority while visiting St. Somewhere Spa, the ship’s pools, and other onboard activities.

Casino Margaritaville invites guests to try their luck, while the Stars on the Water Theater entertains with shows including “Tales from Margaritaville: Jimmy’s Ship Show,” written and produced by Jimmy Buffett and producer Frank Marshall.

“I’m happy to have Margaritaville at Sea join our mission to deliver the best deals and experiences for our incredible GovX members,” said Alan Cole, CEO of GovX. “Americans who serve their country and communities deserve a well-earned vacation from time to time, and we’re so grateful for this partnership.”

“Heroes Sail Free” cruises can be booked on MargaritavilleatSea.com.

  1. Why would a CNA get a free cruise? Firemen respond to explosions, traffic accidents, natural disasters……. I don’t see the comparison.

    1. Because we worked as close to patients with covid just as much as anyone else. Correct me if I’m wrong but the cruise was made available after the pandemic so we all could enjoy a break from the chaos!
