McDonald’s celebrates 25th anniversary of Universal Studios Japan

McDonald’s Japan is celebrating Universal Studios Japan’s 25th anniversary with a collection of 10 Happy Meal toys featuring “Back to the Future,” “Jaws,” Minions, Hello Kitty and more.

The collection launches Oct. 16, 2026, with miniature ride vehicles, interactive toys and Halloween-themed collectibles inspired by the Osaka theme park’s attractions and characters.

Unfortunately for Universal fans in the United States, the promotion is exclusive to Japan. And with a miniature DeLorean and a “Jaws” toy among the offerings, American collectors have every reason to be jealous of those lucky enough to visit Japan during the promotion.

Note: The English toy names are descriptive translations of the Japanese product names, not necessarily official English-language titles.

Universal Studios Japan has entertained visitors for 25 years and this promotion with McDonald’s is one example of the cultural reach achieved by the destination.
