Meet Latte the Steampunk robot pup at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium
Ever since its towering smokestacks appeared in the skyline of CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort three years ago, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen has been an immersive dining experience that can’t be missed. Now, there’s a brand-new resident of the Emporium: an adorable robot dog named Latte.
The 19th Century Steampunk-themed restaurant not only offers guests a unique dining experience—and takes one of the world’s most popular confections to a whole new level—but it also provides diners with the opportunity to interact with the proprietors of the Chocolate Emporium, the inventor Professor Doctor Penelope Tibeaux-Tinker Toothsome, and her robot companion Jacques.
“You’re in for a treat when […] Penelope and Jacques – our humble proprietor and her trusty robot best friend […] visit your table,” said Modesto Alcala, senior vice president-global restaurant development, UPR at NBC Universal. “Just ask them a question, and you’ll be delighted with tales of her travels, her inventor father, and how Jacques came to be.”
Penelope has recently gone back to the drawing board and used assorted cogs, wheels, and kitchen utensils to create a second robot companion, a Steampunk-inspired mechanical pup named Latte, who runs on coffee (but not decaf). Through the end of September, guests can meet Latte, along with Penelope, and Jacques outside the Chocolate Emporium during a first-of-its-kind interactive character appearance (thanks to the innovative Spot robot technology developed by Boston Dynamics) that takes place intermittently between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

To celebrate Latte’s debut, Penelope and Jacque have also introduced a new Toothsome milkshake in her honor called “Latte’s Latte,” which is made with coffee ice cream and espresso and topped with fresh whipped cream, dark chocolate, biscotti, and chocolate-covered espresso beans (and not decaf).
