Meet ‘Wicked’ characters Glinda and Elphaba at Universal Orlando … if you’re lucky
“Wicked” characters Glinda and Elphaba are at at Universal Orlando, but meeting them requires some luck.

Elphaba and Glinda from the “Wicked” movie both appear in person as walk-around characters at Wicked: The Experience at Universal Studios Florida, but their schedules are sporadic and not posted publicly. Unlike other Universal Orlando character greetings, the resort’s app does not list what time to meet the “Wicked” stars, or even if they’ll be out that day at all.

That being said, Wicked: The Experience is the one and only place to find the Elphaba and Glinda characters at Universal Orlando, if they do pop up. Where is it? Wicked: The Experience (the green star on the map below) is just inside the entrance of Universal Studios Florida, to your right, across from Today Café (“Y” on the map) and just before entering Minion Land (“1” on the map).

Wicked: The Experience opened Nov. 16, 2024 in the former spot of the Hello Kitty and UNIVRS gift shops. The walkthrough attraction features displays of movie costumes and props, merchandise, “Wicked”-themed treats, and, if you’re lucky, character meet & greets with Elphaba and Glinda.

Beyond “Wicked,” another pair of sisterly characters similarly prompted a frenzy in Orlando about a decade ago. Following the 2013 debut of “Frozen,” the popularity of Anna and Elsa grew to such a level that the characters outgrew their initial greeting location in the Puffin’s Roost at Epcot’s Norway and were relocated to the more crowd-accommodating Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom. Even there, the sisters’ wait time was known to reach 300 minutes. They received a permanent space of their own with the 2016 opening of Royal Sommerhus next door to Frozen Ever After at Epcot.
Glinda previously appeared — albeit, as the original “Wizard of Oz” version of herself — across town at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during private events celebrating The Great Movie Ride, making her one of the rare fictional personas across history to be featured in both Universal and Disney theme parks.
