Megacon Orlando 2024: Celebrities, tickets, Universal, and more

Megacon Orlando, produced by Fan Expo HQ, will take place Feb. 1-4, 2024 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. A small handful of events will venture offsite to surrounding attractions.

Special Events at Megacon Orlando 2024

With so much happening throughout the four-day event, attending is definitively a “choose your own adventure” situation. No matter what realm of pop culture you’re interested in, or what kind of convention experience you’re looking for, it’s likely represented at Megacon Orlando in some way.

Here’s a small sampling of the activities planned for Megacon Orlando 2024:

• Anime: Themed silent disco, Japanese arcade, and Maid Café Mikkusu experience inspired by Akihabara
  
• Comics: Professional classes, portfolio reviews, art gallery, and commissions
  
• Cosplay: Meet-ups, competitions, and just-for-fun red carpet

• Gaming: Trading card tournament, board game library, and VR experiences
  
• Horror: Exclusive haunted house created by A Petrified Forest, pop-up escape room from Haunted Hints, and horror character makeup demonstration
  
• Sci-Fi & Fantasy: “Jedi Double-Feature” panel with Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor, plus “The Cast of Back to the Future, Live!” with Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and Tom Wilson

Megacon Orlando 2024 Celebrities

Many familiar faces will stop by Megacon Orlando from Hogwarts, Hawkins, and a galaxy far, far away. Attendees can see celebrities during special panels (which will be announced here later), autograph sessions, and photo opportunities.

Of the many names on the extensive full list of Megacon Orlando 2024 celebrities, here are a few from stories with special connections to Orlando’s attractions:

• Marvel: Paul Bettany (“WandaVision”), Tom Hiddleston (“Loki”), Jeff Ward (“agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”).

After-Hours Event at Universal

Universal Islands of Adventure will be open late exclusively for Megacon Orlando attendees on Feb. 2, 2024, from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. Megacon guests can purchase access to this separately-ticketed event for $80, which includes parking (after 6 p.m.), a $25 dining credit, and entry to the park beginning at 5 p.m.

Guests can attend the event at Islands of Adventure in cosplay, provided they follow Megacon’s usual cosplay guidelines. The select attractions operating during the event will be announced later. Westgate Palace Hotel recently deemed Islands of Adventure as the top-rated theme park in the United States.

Other offsite, after-hours events during Megacon Orlando 2024 include a kick-off party at Icebar Orlando, a movie-themed cosplay party at Rosen Plaza’s 3Nine, and a toy-themed cosplay party at Rosen Centre’s executive ballroom.

Megacon Orlando 2024 Schedule

The Orange County Convention Center will hold the following operating hours for Megacon Orlando 2024:

• Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024: 4-9 p.m. (2 p.m. preview for select ticket types)
• Friday, Feb. 2, 2024: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

At the time of this writing, Megacon Orlando has not announced the weekend’s full itinerary of panels and presentations. That information will appear here when available.

Megacon Orlando 2024 Tickets and Pricing

Now through Jan. 17, 2024, Megacon Orlando tickets are available at a discounted rate.

The following prices reflect general admission only. These costs do not include add-ons like seating to select panels, autograph sessions, or photo-ops.

• Single-day ticket: $25 (usually $30)
• Four-day pass: $119 (usually $139)
• Ultimate fan package: $159 (usually $179)
• VIP package: Sold out

Single-day general admission prices vary depending on the day of attendance, with Saturday being the most expensive and Thursday being the most affordable. Youth and children single-day ticket prices are slightly lower than the adult rates listed above. A discounted family package is also available, granting single-day admission for two adults and up to four children.

The four-day pass comes with access to a special preview on Thursday. So does the ultimate fan package, which also adds a Batman bag, Detective Comics #27 (Batman’s first appearance), a Marty McFly vinyl figure, a Wonder Woman lithograph, lounge access, 10% off at the Megacon Orlando Store, and other perks related to event ease.
