The 2024 Epcot International Festival of the Arts has begun! Here’s a look around the Epcot Walt Disney World theme park on opening day of the Festival.
The Festival of the Arts at Epcot runs through Feb. 19, 2024, and features special foods, activities, merchandise, Broadway singer concerts, entertainment, and of course art!
A look at this year’s gift card, always handy for helping you set a spending limit. Disney invited us out today and provided a gift card so we could try some of the foods.
The free Paint By Number Mural activity is back. Each guest is allowed to paint five squares.
After you finish painting your squares, they hand you this card, showing what the finished painting will look like.
There will be new paint by numbers murals each week.
Figment’s Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt is back, as is the wall art around World Showcase. We heard there are some new pieces, but we haven’t spotted any yet.
Communicore Hall construction is coming along and looking good.
While the Hall is being completed, some of the Disney characters are meeting around the new World Celebration area. But Mickey and Minnie are still meeting in their Disney 100 outfits in the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival building.
This ice cream location is just for the festival. It’s located where Starbucks used to be.
This Gnocchi Poutine from the Refreshment Port was really good.
So were the Verjus-roasted Beets, left, and Roasted Bone Marrow from the stand in the Canada pavilion. There are 15 Festival Food Studios located throughout the park.
Just some of the Festival of the Arts merchandise.
The most popular piece of merchandise at this year’s festival is this Figment/Imagination pavilion popcorn bucket. You have to mobile order it through the My Disney Experience app.
Many of the characters around World Showcase are posing with art during the festival.
The characters weren’t out when we walked by, but here’s the art Snow White and Alice will be posing with.
Signs talking about the art from Encanto at the Vibrante & Vívido booth. They were selling a Chorizo and Potato Empanada with Turmeric Aïoli and Annatto Aïoli.
Many Disney artists are on hand to meet guests and sign their art pieces. Here’s artist Fenway Fan speaking with a festival guest.
A couple of the Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots available during the 2024 Epcot Festival of the Arts.
Although you’ll find mostly wall art rather than sculpture type art at the Festival, there’s a wide variety of subjects.
A booth for the Star Wars fans.
Some cool Disney theme parks art.
Although most of the art features Walt Disney Company characters, it’s not all Disney art on display.
Another free activity is the Animation Academy in the America Gardens Theatre. In this particular class, Disney Artist Lon Smart showed guests how to draw Figment. He also took a few questions after the class.
Despite the cloudy first day, the colorful signs around the park still looked good.
Look for some musicians and other entertainment at the front of World Showcase.
More colorful art on display and for sale at Epcot during the Festival of the Arts.
Some kids having fun showing off their artistic skills in chalk. Chalk artists will also be drawing on the ground on the bridge to World Showcase, but they hadn’t yet begun because of the rainy day.
Four Disney Imagineer artists were tasked with drawing Spaceship Earth in different styles. Find this display outside the Connections Cafe.
We will end our photo update with a look inside Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey:
