MegaCon is back this weekend with MegaCon Tampa Bay, the three-day pop culture exhibition event in Tampa Bay, Fla., with Stan Lee as the headliner.
Produced by the same team who organizes MegaCon Orlando, this convention runs from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, 2017, and has plenty in store for fans of all things pop and nerd culture. Fans can get autographs and photos with their favorite guests, and hear all the latest news on movies and TV during celebrity panels. Cosplayers are everywhere, and there is over 100,000 square feet of unique shopping locations during the convention.
One of the must-dos at this year’s MegaCon Tampa Bay is a one-on-one meal auction with the one and only, Stan Lee. All funds from the auction will be going toward Feeding Florida’s hurricane relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Lee will also be speaking in his own panel on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Ballroom C.
Other exciting opportunities during this year’s MegaCon include “Jay & Silent Bob Get Old in Tampa Bay,” a special ticketed panel where the two actors from “Clerks” share stories live on stage; a celebrity Q&A with “The Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder; a chance to get up close and personal to a replica of the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1989 “Batman;” a costume contest, and more.
Another comic star joining the MegaCon Tampa Bay lineup is Ed McGuinness, who is best known for his work on Superman, Deadpool and Spider-Man comics. Other celebrity guests to the convention include William Shatner from “Star Trek,” Gate Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin from “Stranger Things,” James Masters from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Ruth Connell from “Supernatural,” and more.
