Monorail attraction coming to Epcot’s Play Pavilion
A monorail-themed attraction has been teased for Epcot’s Play Pavilion in the upcoming book, “The Disney Monorail: Imagineering a Highway in the Sky.”
The book, written by Jeff Kurtti, Vanessa Hunt and Pal Wolski, celebrates the history and evolution of the Disney Monorail with historical photographs, rare concept and development art, and more.
At the back of the book, one page in particular teases at what’s to come for the famous form of Disney transportation:
The poster says the “Monorail Mark X” is set to arrive at Epcot in 2021, and features the “PLAY!” logo and graphic for the new pavilion.
Next to the poster design, the caption says, “Calling all pilots! A new way to play arrives at the Play! Pavilion at Epcot in 2021.”
While this original timeline may have changed due to the park’s COVID-19 closures, it is exciting to see a new experience revealed for this vibrant and interactive new area at Epcot. As far as what kind of monorail-themed experience awaits us in the Play Pavilion? We’ll just have to wait and see.
