More details released on some smaller Fantasyland expansion attractions

Disney has posted some previously unreleased details on some of the smaller attractions coming to the new Fantasyland when it opens over the next two years. A new Fantasyland Expansion page was recently added to Disney’s official Walt Disney World website.

The page, which can be found at disneyworld.com under the attractions section of Magic Kingdom, highlights all of the new attractions coming to Fantasyland. We’ve previously reported on most of them online and in our Spring 2011 issue, but these details are new:

Casey Jr. Roundhouse
Adjacent to the Fantasyland Train Station is the Casey Jr. Roundhouse, a circus-themed immersive water play area that’s fun for the little ones. They’ll splish and splash as Casey Jr. billows off cool steam and water squirts from playful monkeys, elephants and camels.

Scuttle’s Scavenger Hunt
While approaching Ariel’s Grotto to meet The Little Mermaid, join Scuttle for this fun, interactive game! Search the seaside entrance way to find the seagull’s treasures from the Human World, like a dinglehopper or a bulbous snarfblatt. Scuttle will be on hand to help with the hunt.

Also of note is that the kiddie coaster originally to be renamed “Goofy as The Great Goofini” will be keeping the Barnstormer name and will be “hosted by the Great Goofini”. And the Princess Fairytale Hall only lists Aurora, Cinderella and Tiana as the princesses you can meet there.

Here’s a recent video look at the Fantasyland construction by Attractions contributor Don Gworek:

Special thanks to StitchKingdom.com for alerting us to the new Fantasyland Expansion page.

UPDATE:
10 p.m. June 1, 2011: – It seems the Fantasyland Expansion page has been taken down. It could be this information wasn’t supposed to be released yet. So some of the information may be changing. We’ll have to wait and see what the page says when and if it returns.

  1. Something more for the little girls to enjoy more tha the boys. That’s OK, I would just do all the other lands instead of Fantasyland.
