Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm: What’s new, what’s gone, what’s coming
Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm debuted a new coaster and more. Find out what’s refreshed, what’s defunct, what’s the same, and what’s still on the way.

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif. unveiled its reimagined Camp Snoopy area on June 27, 2024 following a delay from its originally announced Memorial Day debut. Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, a kiddie coaster, is its headliner new addition.

The Peanuts-themed land was the first of its kind when it opened in 1983. Now, variations of Camp Snoopy exist in several other parks nationwide, all under Cedar Fair ownership (though just this week annexed as Six Flags parks).

Camp Snoopy’s reimagining at Knott’s introduces new experiences and replaces old ones. Let’s tour inside the land and see its grand opening moment.
New: Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster
Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster is a kiddie coaster built by manufacturer Zamperla. With Snoopy at the helm of the coaster train, riders take a mild trip around a few curves. Take a look:
Guests must be at least 36 inches tall to ride Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, and at least 42 inches tall to ride without a chaperone.

Refreshed: Off-Road Rally, Beagle Express, Camp Store
Knott’s Berry Farm revised several existing attractions to better fit the theme of Camp Snoopy. Rocky Mountain Trucking Company — an open-air Jeep ride — is now Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally. Similarly, the train ride formerly known as the Grand Sierra Railroad is now the Beagle Express Railroad. The park also refreshed the area’s gift shop, Snoopy’s Camp Store.

Coming soon: Sally’s Swing Along
Sally’s Swing Along will be an oversized swing once it debuts, but it’s not open yet. A representative from Knott’s Berry Farm told us it will open “in the next week or two” at the time of this writing.

The attraction will swing riders 10 feet into the air. Guests must be at least 36 inches tall to ride Sally’s Swing Along, or at least 42 inches tall to ride without a chaperone.
Defunct: Timerbline Twister, Ferris Wheel, and more
Comparing the park’s current map to older versions, we can see which new additions for Camp Snoopy replaced now-defunct Knott’s Berry Farm attractions.
Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster replaced Timberline Twister (also a kiddie coaster, pictured below) and Camp Bus (which gently lifted riders up and done, all riding in one bus-like ride vehicle, pictured below at Carowinds but nearly identical at Knott’s).

Sally’s Swing Along replaced the High Sierra Ferris Wheel.
To accommodate the expansion of the Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally track, the kids-only Huff and Puff ride also closed.
Knott’s originally announced an all-new Camp Theater to replace the previous entertainment venue, but changed plans. The area is now an astro-turf spot with picnic tables.
Still here: Camp Snoopy favorites
Longtime attractions that remain part of the reimagined Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm include Balloon Race, Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer, Flying Ace, Linus Launcher, Pig-Pen’s Mud Buggies, Rapid River Run, and Sierra Sidewinder.

Lastly, the Knott’s Berry Farm app and website do not currently display Woodstock Airmail as available. A representative from Knott’s told us there is no date yet for its reopening, but that “as of now it’s not permanently closed.”
Camp Snoopy grand reopening ceremony
Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Jon Storbeck (vice president and general manager of Knott’s Berry Farm), and over 100 kids from The Boys and Girls Club of Buena Park cut the ribbon at the reopening of Camp Snoopy on June 27, 2024. Take a look at the grand reopening ceremony:
Earlier this summer, Kings Island — a sister park of Knott’s Berry Farm and located in Mason, Ohio — expanded its Planet Snoopy land with a Camp Snoopy of its own, complete with the Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers family boomerang coaster.
