New details revealed for Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience
The Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience officially opens on Oct. 28, 2020, at Skylight ROW DTLA in Los Angeles. During the immersive yet socially-distant event, fans will be able to travel back in time and take a joyride through 1985 Hawkins, Ind. – and beyond.
The unique experience is not a haunted house, drive-in screening, or outdoor theatrical play. Instead, fans will experience the entire 60-minute live-action show from the safety of their car as they drive from scene to scene with the story unfolding around them from all sides.
To get into the proper retro mood for the event, ticket holders can tune into Hawkins Radio via a digital channel to hear ’80s classics, strange sonic intrusions, radio hijacks, and bursts of information. Once they arrive—dressed in their ’80s best, of course—fans of the supernatural series will pull into Starcourt Mall for a chance to cruise the drive-thru food court options before pulling into Lynx Labs, where things really turn upside down.
In addition to familiar settings and scenes, characters will perform exclusive new original content inspired by season 3 of “Stranger Things” and created in partnership with show creators The Duffer Brothers. Fans will also hear new music specifically developed for the experience by series composers Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein.
The first-of-its-kind drive-into live entertainment event is co-produced by Netflix and Fever (the premier event discovery platform). Creative direction is by Secret Cinema (known for detailed fan experiences based on popular film and TV titles, including the recent sell-out Stranger Things show in London).
Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience will take place Wednesday to Sunday from 6-11 p.m. PT.
