Just announced today at Destination D23, two brand-new theatrical productions will be offered on the Disney Wish cruise ship. These productions are made by the same team that has produced other fan-favorites like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular,” “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular,” and more.
“Disney The Little Mermaid,” will be an original Broadway-style reimagining of the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic. It will have a “modern and innovative take on a young woman learning the power of her voice.” The show will feature special effects, innovative theatrical design, artistic choreography, and a reimagined script and score — but, of course, it will feature many of the classic songs and characters you love.
There will also be a brand-new production that focuses on Captain Minnie. “Disney Seas the Adventure” will follow Goofy as he discovers his own inner captain with the help of Captain Minnie and an all-star cast of Disney and Pixar characters.
The upcoming Disney Wish cruise ship will also have another first. The first Disney attraction at sea comes soon, called the AquaMouse. “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” animated shorts will come to life aboard this attraction. AquaMouse will have show scenes, lighting and special effects. This water ride will take riders through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended high above the upper decks.
