New Lego ‘Friends’ Apartments Set brings the show to life in a new way

Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, Chandler, and yes, even Janice will all be there for you on June 1, 2021, when the 2,048-piece Lego “Friends” Apartments Set goes on sale.

Recreating both apartments of the famous across-the-hall neighbors from “Friends” — plus the adjoining hallway — the set (recommended for age 18+) is part of a range of creative buildable model sets designed for adult building fans and is packed with favorite moments from the hit sitcom.

“Following the success of the Lego Ideas Central Perk set, we wanted to develop another tribute to this iconic TV show with a focus on the famous apartments,” said Lego Set Designer Anderson Ward Grubb. “We worked directly from production photos of the set as well as watching and re-watching a lot of episodes so we could capture as many iconic moments as possible.”

“One fun challenge was figuring out how to represent some aspects that change over the course of the show that appear in some episodes and not in others,” he added. “I am looking forward to seeing if the eagle-eyed fans will spot them.”

The Lego Friends Apartments Set includes Minifigures of all six friends – Rachel in her plaid skirt, Ross in too-tight leather pants, Monica in an apron, Phoebe in a boho floral outfit, Chandler in a suit and loud tie, and Joey wearing all of Chandler’s clothes. Plus, for the first time, Janice will also feature as a Minifigure along with Pat the Dog and, of course, the chick and duck.

“Friends” fans will also be able to relive their favorite episodes, including “The One With All The Thanksgivings,” where Monica puts a turkey on her head; “The One With Ross’s Grant,” where Monica and Rachel “fight” over Phoebe’s creepy artwork Gladys (or is it Glynnis?); and “The One with All the Cheesecakes” where Chandler and Rachel eat the remains of Mrs. Braverman’s cheesecake.
